Horus Heresy Era Look for the Space Wolves Shadow Company

In celebration of the divine set of rules found at the Bell of Lost Souls blog the Space Wolves army I am putting together will be a pre heresy Space Wolves army. Although I would love to get my hands on some Iron Armour or Maximus Armour to kit out my army I will gladly settle for an army full of MK VI Corvus Space Marine Armour... aka Beakie Armour.

To get the right look for the MK VI Corvus Armour three the following things must be done. First, you gotta have beakie helmets... check, yup I have these in abundance. Second, you need the proper legs and torso components... check. Finally, you need one smooth shoulder pad and one studded shoulder pad... I do not have these, until now :)

Below are the eight, yes only eight, Heresy shoulder pads I have made for the Space Wolf Army. I took very small flat sided crystals and glued them to the shoulder pads. When they are painted they will look very awesome I am sure.

The Space Wolves Return!!

For the last 5 years I have been heavily invested in my Thousand Sons Chaos army. However, I only started playing the Thousand Sons since they are the ancient enemy of my true passion --the Space Wolves! Yet, I havent seen a new army list for almost 10years which has been problematic. But I have heard through the GW rumour mill that the Space Wolves will be getting an update sometime next year. Thus, to celebrate I have started to work on the Space Wolves once again. I want an army full of beakie marines and this is what most of the army will look like.

Ps... this model is simply drybrushed with the grey I am thinking of using... it is not done :)

The Start of A very Grand Cyberboard Campaign!

I thought I would post up a pic of the ponderous insanity I just placed myself in. I am in the midst of creating an original game that will be played via email via Cyberboard. However, all games need a map and maps are not fun to draw. Below is the basic rough draft of Pyric III that will be the primary planet in the online game. Once complete, I will then scan it into my computer as a bitmap and then transfer it to Cyber Design where I can lay a Hex Grid over it. After that little bit of fun the hard part begins... I will have to create gaming peices practically one pixel at a time... YAY!!!

Battlefleet Gothic Version 2 Completed

Anyone seeking to run the Demo game should download Version 1, for those wanting to play a more complete version of Battlefleet Gothic please download version 2.

Adios

Turn Sequence and How to Play Cyberboard Files Updated

I have updated the "How to Play Cyberboard File" and the "BFG Turn Sequence" and will soon revamp Battlefleet Gothic Gamebox v2 to include better rulers, pop up messages for heavy gunz/ bombardment cannon hit markers, and an updated version of the turn sequence.

The BFG Turn Sequence is now:

1. DAMAGE CONTROL. – Chance to Brace for Impact (Same bonuses and negatives and LD modifiers) and to resolve hits taken during opponents shooting and ordinance phases (Remember to roll for criticals). If bracing was successful then they will be on Brace the entire turn.

2. CARRY OVER EVENTS – Complete Enemies Boarding Actions (since the fate of some ships could not be determined), Teleport Attacks, and Critical Damage Repair (since you would have had a chance during your opponents end phase). In this order always.
· Boarding and Teleports attacks.
· Critical Damage Repair.

3. MOVE/RESOLVE OLD ORDINANCE – Move preexisting ordinance owned by player.

4. MOVEMENT – Special Orders First, Move and Resolve any Ordinance Attacks.

5. SHOOTING – Only Shoot Weapons Batteries and Lances. Place “Hits Taken During Turn” markers on hit ships. Do not resolve critical or catastrophic damage here (your opponent completes this during DAMAGE CONTROL).

6. MOVE/RESOLVE NEW ORDINANCE – Conduct new ordinance movement and attacks.

7. END PHASE – Critical Damage Repair (normal chance to do so) and Blast Marker Removal.

Turn Sequence out of Sequence

The turn sequence for Battlefleet Gothic on cyberboard is being fine tuned please don't download it quite yet... I will post another message when it is complete.

Battlefleet Gothic For Cyberboard Is Finally Complete!!

After months of sitting in front of a computer and drawing gaming pieces pixel by pixel, Battlefleet Gothic is finally ready to play via email. I have worked out many of the kinks and jinks myself, but I am sure we will find a few more as we play test it.

To download the necessary files needed to play Battlefleet Gothic simply look to the right side of my blog and look for the list entitled "Cyberboard". There you will find the Player, Designer, Help Files, Gameboxes, Demos, and Scenarios.

Before you download the files, create a file on your desktop or my documents and call it something you will remember. I call my file for cyberboard, "Cyberboard"... simple eh.

The links will take you to a site called Gigasize where you will have to download the file by entering in a three digit security code. The code and download button are on the right side of the screen. After entering in the code a countdown will begin while the file is prepared to be downloaded. During this time you may or may not be advertized to by Gigasize, if so simply decline and skip the offers. This will only take about 35 seconds. After which the file is ready to download so you will click the download button and save it to your computer and into your cyberboard folder.

To see the gamebox open the designe and then open the gamebox. Choosing the gamebox first often times brings up an annoying choose program window. When closing these files never choose to save changes unless you are the designer.

To run the Demo and Scenario files open the Player and then open the desired Demo or scenario file. (word for the wise... never change or save over what you have downloaded. Doing so makes your files different then the others and then you will not be able to play. When closing these files never choose to save changes unless you are the designer or are actually playing a game.

A while back I posted a screen shot of what the game basically looks like on wigan wargames... click the link to see the post..

Now I will finish up Warmaster, and Epic... then I can move onto 40k and Fantasy.

See y'all later...

Kontroll -- What a great movie

Frozen Sea in Cape Town - South Africa

These pictures were sent to us by our Grandmother's husband in South Africa. The sea has a layer of Ice floating on the top which is moving with the waves. Some sections of the sea were apparently completley frozen solid. These are amazing pictures.

Austin Trip June 2007

Last Weekend me and the Wife took a mini vacation, actually a business trip, down to the Texas Capitol in Austin. We woke up early friday morning and drove down to Ausitn which only took about 3 hours. Upon arrival, I dropped my wife at her business meeting and checked into the Omni Hotel. After her meeting we went sight seeing and went out to eat. The next day we spent just galavanting around the Capitol grounds and walking through the city streets. After that we drove home to Dallas. All in all a good mini vacation from Dallas life.

Thats for damn sure!!

2006 Vacaction

Good evening everyone! I have been meaning to put these pictures up online, especially since many of my friends have never seen my wife. Two weeks before Christmas last year, me and the wife took a two week trip to California. We drove through New Mexico and the horrible snow storms that hit the Rockies. We stopped to tour Meteor Crater in Arizona, Spent three days in Las Vegas, and the rest of the Vactation we spent on the beach enjoying ourselves and visiting family.

Ahhh, the sands of my favorite beach --Newport--

Play By Mail Warmaster, 40K, BFG, ETC...

A while back I stumbled upon a cool computer game system that allows two or more players to play games via email. The game system is called Cyberboard and was created by Dale Larson. The basic premise of the system allows players to make army tiles, terrain, and playing peices. When Playing Cyberboard the system allows players to set up armies hidden or otherwise. When a player moves his army the system records all moves which are then emailed to the opponent who can then play back the moves with the VCR buttons.

To play Cyberboard the players need to create tiles for all parts to be used in the game... everything including markers, terrain, and playing peices. Their are many places to download already made army and terrain tiles form many many games. To download Cyberboard and play against your distant buddies visit

http://cyberboard.brainiac.com/index.html

Personally I have made terrain and playing peices for most of what is needed to play Warmaster, 40k, and I have plans to make BFG.

If anyone is interested I also wrote down a step by step set of instructions which outline how to create armies and play Cyberboard. If you need a copy of these just place a comment below with your general email address and I will send it to you. I could also send the game boxes for Warmaster and 40k.

The two pictures below are the armies and terrain I have made for Warmaster enjoy...

Good Ideas

A few days ago I went to the local gameshop here in Plano. While I was there I discovered they had changed the display cases which now showcased better figures than before. I really liked the Ultramarine drop pods that were scratch built from picnic cups and plasticard. Also, in the smaller display case I saw some painted figures for the new Warmachine game. The figures were awsome and the painting spectacualr, it is hard to believe they were painted by a 14 yr old boy whom the store gamers refer to as little heffe.
